Security Forces Kill 19 Militants in Nationwide Operations: ISPR
RAWALPINDI – Pakistani security forces carried out multiple intelligence-based operations in different districts, killing at least 19 militants linked to Indian-backed groups, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the military’s media wing, the first operation was launched in the Guluno area of Mohmand District, where 14 militants were killed after an intense exchange of fire.
In another operation in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, four more militants were neutralized by security forces. A separate encounter in Bannu District led to the killing of one militant.
The ISPR added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain fighters, who had been involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.
“Sanitization operations are still underway to clear the areas of any remaining terrorists, as Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,” the statement said.
