Resham reacts responds to Sakina Samos criticism
This week, the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, conferred civil honors on prominent personalities, including foreign nationals, for their services in different fields involving medicine, education, social services, and fine arts, and for showing gallantry in the war against terrorism as well as during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Resham was awarded Pride of Performance. The actor, among her peers, accepted the award by the President at President house in the Federal capital. After she shared pictures from the ceremony, the 90s star received flak over how she didn’t deserve the award.
Actress Resham received the Pride of Performance award and was later criticized by Sakina Samo over her win. However, Resham responded to her remark during an interview with a publication.
Samo had stated, “I believe the choice for Pride of Performance is becoming increasingly simple and easy. And, as a result, several personalities who have dedicated their entire careers often go unnoticed. It is said that the government has given such a huge award to people like Resham and Ali Zafar, who in my opinion don’t deserve it.”
Resham addressed Samo’s comment and said, “Perhaps I don’t deserve any awards or accolades. However, the point to ponder over here is, do great. And senior actors globally give such demeaning remarks towards their juniors? Remarks that belittle and undermine years of struggles and hard work of another actor, especially their juniors? Big actors, in their true sense, have big hearts.”
She added, “May God bless her with more awards. But she should reflect upon the fact that but when someone tries to put someone else down. It shows their caliber and character, not the other person’s.”
