PM Kakar departs for China

Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the acting prime minister, departed for China on Monday in order to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation, which will be place in Beijing from October 17–18.

The visit is being made by the prime minister at the invitation of Xi Jinping, the president of China.

Kakar will speak at the BRF’s high-level discussion on “Connectivity in an Open Global Economy” on October 18, according to a statement from the PM Office.

The prime minister will meet privately with President Xi Jinping, senior Chinese officials, and other international dignitaries present at the event during his visit to China.

To increase bilateral commerce and investment, the prime minister will also meet with influential Chinese businesspeople.

Kakar is also anticipated in Urumqi in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China to meet with businesspeople and local authorities in an effort to strengthen trade, investment, and interpersonal ties.

The visit of the premier coincides with ongoing ceremonies honoring CPEC, the main undertaking of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which has been operational for ten years.

The prime minister will also highlight the CPEC’s major accomplishments and upcoming priorities while reiterating Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to working with it to advance high-quality development.
