Rahmanullah Gurbaz praised Virat Kohli and Babar Azam cover drive
In the cricketing realm, a cover drive defines a batsman’s elegance and technical prowess. Two modern-day maestros of the stroke are Virat Kohli and Bazar Azam and cover drive has been a signature of their batting style because of the elegance with which they play.When asked to choose between Kohli and Babar’s cover drive, Gurbaz thought hard before finally going ahead with Kohli’s shot.
Kohli, known for his mastery over this shot and calls cover drive as his favourite shot as well. His ability to command both bat and body during the execution of this shot has been lauded by the fans and experts. On the other hand, Babar’s cover drive is characterised by its timing and grace.
Babar is currently in Australia for a 3-match Test series in overseas conditions. Meanwhile, Kohli is on breakfrom the white-ball series against South Africa and will join the national side for the two Test matches.
Gurbaz also chose the T10 over the T20 format. When asked to choose which batter Gurbaz will pick to chase down 30 runs in last over, he chose MS Dhoni over Rinku Singh. Rinku has been in exceptional form lately and proved to be a match-winner for India in the recently concluded T20I series against Australia. His consistent ability to finish matches for India has drawn comparisons with Dhoni. Rinku will also be in the reckoning for the T20 World Cup 2024 as India’s number 6 batter.

The wicket-keeper batter picked victory against Pakistan over the win against England in the Cricket World Cup 2023. There were also some fun questions apart from cricket, for which Gurbaz made some interesting choices.

Gurbaz had an inconsistent run in the tournament as he scored 280 runs at an average of 31.11. However, his half centuries against Pakistan and England were crucial in Afghanistan winning the matches.
Gurbaz was part of the title-winning New York strikers in the recently concluded Abu Dhabi T10 league. The Afghanistan opener provided his side with quick-fire starts and finished; the tournament with an average of 22 and a staggering strike rate of over 169. Led by Kieron Pollard, the Strikers halted; the two-time defending champions Deccan Gladiators’ run in the finals as they won by seven wickets in the final over
