People are paired by Allah; Nausheen Shah doesn’t want your “pity” for being unmarried

People are paired by Allah; Nausheen Shah

The question of marriage often comes under examination, especially for public figures, when society expectations dictate the routes that people should take. Actor Nausheen Shah recently made a strong statement about the value of allowing single celebrities space, defying stereotypes and criticism of them.

During the Lahore Bridal Couture Week, the actor walked the ramp, exhibiting the captivating ‘Machlee ke Kahani’ (A Fish Tale) collection by designer Ali Xeeshan. The occasion provided a stage for the presentation of stunning bridal gowns and also provided a setting for Shah’s moving reply to a troll about marriage.

The altercation started on Instagram when someone posted, “I do feel sorry for these actresses,” in response to one of her photos from the fashion display. Many of them continue to model for bridal gowns without getting married.” Shah skillfully silenced the troll in return, arguing in favor of compassion and understanding. “Please give us some space, darling, and let’s not feel sorry for one another—especially since we don’t know one another.” The decision to get married is not up to anyone. Thank you, Allah, for pairing people up!”

The way Nausheen Shah responded struck a chord with a broader discussion about cultural norms and the excessive pressure society places on people—especially famous people—to fit in. Her remarks demonstrate the knowledge that getting married is a personal decision rather than a gauge of success or value. Shah promotes a change in viewpoint by claiming that a greater power determines a person’s pairing, defying the trend in society to criticize and ridicule single celebrity.

Regarding the “Machlee ke Kahani” collection by ace atelier Ali Xeeshan, it surpassed conventional bridal aesthetics and was inspired by the enchanted underwater realm, turning dreams into reality. The range’s vivid diversity is reflected in its official description, which emphasizes the voluminous silhouettes, captivating color palettes, and flawless detailing. Similar to Shah, Xeeshan’s collection strives to defy expectations, with pastels evoking coral reefs and unusual hues reflecting the ocean’s depths.
