With the First-Ever Audio Nikahnama in Pakistan, easypaisa Empowers Women

Recently, Easypaisa caused a stir in the financial services sector. Pakistan’s top digital financial services platform, easypaisa, has announced the “easypaisa Audio Nikahnama,” a ground-breaking program that gives women unparalleled access to their vital marriage rights, in a historic move that breaks taboos and empowers women. This innovative solution, which is a first for Pakistan, uses technology to ensure that the most crucial moments in life are taught, even in the face of literacy problems.

The Pakistan Commission on the Status of Women reports that due to limited literacy, two thirds of Pakistani women are unable to understand their Nikahnama, and the remaining one third do not have timely access to the document. easypaisa Audio Nikahnama takes a direct approach to this problem by providing a free, easy-to-use solution. Women can use this audio tool by downloading the easypaisa App and listening to the Nikahnama in seven different languages, or they can use a free hotline by leaving a missed call on the designated number (0341-1171222). Furthermore, the software has a sign language option to guarantee accessibility for all users. This gives women the ability to comprehend their rights and obligations under the marriage contract, irrespective of their socioeconomic status or digital divide.

Rifah Qadri, Head of Marketing & Communications at easypaisa, commented on the development, saying, “Many Pakistani women have entered marriages for decades without fully understanding the terms of their Nikahnama.” Because of ignorance or illiteracy, this important document that outlines their rights and responsibilities within the marriage is frequently unavailable. We are dismantling these obstacles and enabling women to make knowledgeable decisions about their futures with the help of the easypaisa Audio Nikahnama. This program aims to empower women, advance transparency, and provide financial stability—all of which strengthen families—rather than merely focusing on technology. Through universal access to the Nikahnama, we are empowering and enlightening Pakistan’s female population.

In addition to improving understanding of the marriage contract, the easypaisa Audio Nikahnama also encourages candid conversation inside marriages and opens the door to a more just future.

Easypaisa has established itself as a prominent player in the digital financial services sector of Pakistan, with over 40 million registered mobile accounts and growing. The company is committed to leveraging technology to create a financially inclusive society in Pakistan.
