According to the media, Indian great Mithun Chakraborty has a brain stroke

After feeling ill, Mithun Chakraborty was brought to Apollo Hospital’s emergency room on Saturday, February 10, according to The Indian Express. Later, the hospital released a medical bulletin, and in an update, Mithun’s older son Mimoh said, “He is 100% fine, and it’s a routine check-up.”

“Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs,” according to a statement released by Apollo Hospital. A brain MRI and other necessary laboratory and radiological tests were performed.”

“He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain,” the statement continued. He’s awake, alert, and has been eating a soft diet as of late. A group of medical professionals, comprising a gastroenterologist, cardiologist, and neuro-physician, are continuing to assess Shri Chakraborty.

Since entering the film business in 1976, Mithun has been recognized with many honors, including the National Award. Recognized for his parts in classic movies such as Disco Dancer, Jung, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Prem Pratigyaa, and Mard, Mithun’s contributions have endured.

Mithun, who was recently recognized as one of the Padma Bhushan Awardees for 2024, shared his happiness and appreciation on social media via his son Namashi. “I am very happy, filled with joy,” he said, “having accomplished everything and receiving such an honor is something I cannot express.” The mood is different when such a big acknowledgment follows a lot of adversity, according to Mithun.

“I want to thank everyone for their wonderful and respectful gifts. Additionally, I’m dedicating this prize to all of my global and Indian followers. I’m dedicated this to everyone who has shown me unselfish love—my well-wishers. The actor continued, “Thank you for showing me so much love and respect.”

Santirani Chakraborty, Mithun’s mother, died in Mumbai in July 2023 from age-related complications. Basantokumar Chakraborty, Mithun’s father, also died of renal disease in April 2020 at the age of 95.
