Everyone’s focused on Zendaya’s futuristic appearance at the “Dune
Zendaya attracted attention on Thursday night at the world premiere of Dune: Part 2 in London by wearing a chrome bodysuit from the 1995 Mugler Couture line. According to the theme of the Zendaya movie, the futuristic outfit had clear plastic sleeves, gloves, and slacks that were sparkling, along with a large diamond necklace.
According to Vogue, the inaugural Mugler Fall/Winter presentation “was memorable more for its rather liberal use of fetishistic latex; its cameos by the likes of Tippi Hedren, Patty Hearst, and Veruschka; and its performance by James Brown.” The collection is further described as a “frightening and tantalizing image for the dawn of the Internet age, and a fitting end for this list of the most unforgettable fashion shows of the 1990s” in the description.
During the world premiere of the highly anticipated sci-fi film Dune: Part Two, which stars Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya, the desert planet Arrakis made an appearance in London’s Leicester Square on Thursday.
In his follow-up to 2021’s Dune, Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve transports viewers to Arrakis. Chalamet’s Paul Atreides teams up with Zendaya’s Chani and the local Arrakis people, known as the Fremen, to seek retribution against those responsible for his father’s death.
The franchise is based on the hugely acclaimed 1965 novel of the same name by author Frank Herbert and is set in a future in which planetary fiefs are ruled by aristocratic families. It addresses the environment, politics, religion, and the struggle for finite resources.
“There was a lot of backstory in the first film, which was sort of like homework for the audience to understand about this universe. At the London screening, which had a desertscape setup and is the most recent of the film’s promotional trips, Villeneuve told Reuters that “the second one was more cinematic fun for me.” “Much more difficult but much more fun to do.”
In their assessments, critics praised the first picture as a visual extravaganza because of its expansive landscapes and ominous atmosphere. Actor Rebecca Ferguson reprises her role as Paul’s mother Jessica in Dune: Part Two, while Javier Bardem plays Fremen leader Stilgar. New cast members Austin Butler, who starred in Elvis Presley, plays the evil Feyd-Rautha, and Florence Pugh, who starred in Oppenheimer, plays Princess Irulan.
“Upon joining the franchise, I entered a world that I was already completely engrossed in,” Pugh remarked. Butler remarked, “It was a dream, I mean to be a part of a cast like this,” and that he enjoyed his role as the antagonist. “I had the chance to watch Dune, which I considered to be a masterpiece. Being a part of this one made me feel extremely blessed.”
February 28 marks the start of Dune: Part Two’s worldwide theatrical release. Due to the Hollywood actors‘ strike, the film’s original release date was pushed back from late last year.
