Fans think Max and Demi broke up because of Selena Gomez
Demi Lovato’s former boyfriend/now fiance Max Ehrich put a ring on it last week. Meanwhile, his longtime love for Lovato’s non-friend Selena Gomez is surfacing again. The pair ended their engagement after two months, with sources admitting that “communication got rough” as Max was working in Atlanta.
Even so, Emmy-nominated Ehrich is a Selenator. It left some people to think it’s no coincidence that he proposed to Demi on Selena’s birthday. A week before their breakup, a thread on Twitter that paints Ehrich in a pretty bad light went semi-viral. It was “Exposing Demi Lovato’s manipulative fiance , Max Ehrich, who is an obsessive fame leech”.
Max Obsession with Selena:
A Twitter user, Tam, collected some screenshots that Ehrich had a bit of an obsession with Gomez before he proposed to Lovato. Max fans criticized him for allegedly leaving thirsty messages on older posts by Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande. When he was a teenager he said in tweets that he thought Selena was “prettier” than Demi. As well as an interview in which he said he wanted to star in a romantic comedy with Selena. However, Demi spoke up, writing: “It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other.” Lovato posted an Instagram story claiming they’re all fake.
But there’s also a fairly recent video of Ehrich interacting with Selena Gomez fans on Instagram Live. He said he’d “love to date her” and is “with Selena in my dreams“. He also allegedly followed a lot of Selena Gomez fan accounts on his personal Instagram page. When Lovato fans compiled all of these screenshots and videos , Ehrich deleted all his social media accounts. Thus makes it impossible to verify their existence.
Ehrich has a small music note tattoo that is very similar to Gomez’s, in the same place. He also has a white ‘S’ tattoo on his wrist, though he claims it stands for ‘surrender’. Who knows what it actually means, Right?
Selena’s remarks about the situation:
Gomez has not directly spoken out about speculation she had any involvement with Ehrich, but she did pledge her loyalty to Lovato in a new promo video.
While discussing YouTube Music in a September 30 clip, Gomez praised female artists such as Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa for changing the music landscape. Gomez’s shout out comes days after Lovato released a powerful breakup ballad, ‘Still Have Me’, which appears to be about her short-lived engagement to Ehrich.
