Chinese FM: There Is No Justification for the Death of Civilians in Gaza
At a news conference held on the fringes of China Two Sessions in Beijing on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated, “There can no longer be any justification for the continuation of the conflict and no excuse for the killing of civilians in Gaza.”
He continued by saying that a quick ceasefire and the end of hostilities must be the “overriding priority” for the international community.
Wang also urged some Security Council members to eliminate obstacles to peace, expressing China’s support for Palestine’s full membership in the UN.
China’s message offers optimism amidst the ongoing strife between Israel and Palestine. Indeed, mothers and children should get care from their loved ones, and our brothers and sisters in Gaza should be allowed to live in peace in this world.
