China FM: Attempts to sabotage Pakistan-China cooperation would fail
China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Lin Jian stated on Wednesday that any attempt to sabotage China-Pakistan cooperation will fail because both countries have the desire and capacity to hold terrorists accountable for their deeds.
In reaction to a terrorist assault in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday that claimed the lives of five Chinese people, Lin made the comments at a routine news briefing.
“We strongly condemn this terrorist attack, express deep sympathy for the victims, and extend sincere condolences to the bereaved families,” Lin stated.
Lin said China is appreciative that other nations have also denounced the attack and shown compassion for the Chinese victims.
He stated that the Chinese embassy in Pakistan and the country’s foreign ministry activated an emergency response system as soon as possible following the occurrence. They have kept in regular communication with the Pakistani side in both Beijing and Islamabad, asking them to expedite the search for the terrorist and his subsequent punishment, pursue justice for the victims, and take proactive steps to guarantee the protection of Chinese people living in the nation.
According to Lin, the Pakistani side promised to carry out a full investigation into the incident, promptly notify the Chinese side on its findings, and take additional, comprehensive steps to enhance the security of Chinese workers, projects, and institutions in Pakistan.
He restated China’s position on terrorism, which is that it is the shared enemy of all people and that the international community must work together to battle it and stop similar tragedies from happening again.
According to Lin, China fully backs Pakistan counterterrorism initiatives. He continued by saying that China will work closely with Pakistan in a number of areas to advance the interests of the two peoples and will continue to assist Pakistan’s social, economic, and economic growth as well as the enhancement of the lives of its people.
