Introducing Jais Chat, an Arabic chatbot that the UAE just released

The National said that the United Arab Emirates has debuted Jais Chat, a bilingual chatbot created by Core42, a division of G42, an artificial intelligence and cloud computing business based in Abu Dhabi.

According to Core42, the Arabic and English chatbot was designed using an Arabic-centric approach for effective processing of Arabic text.

Its interface, according to the study, is comparable to Microsoft’s Copilot or OpenAI’s ChatGPT in that users may use prompts to find solutions, obtain information, and acquire answers that would defy traditional search engines.

The multilingual chatbot’s foundation is the extensive Arabic language model “Jais” from G42.

In association with Silicon Valley-based Cerebras Systems and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, it was released last year.

Jais, according to Andrew Jackson, executive vice president and chief AI officer of Core42, reshapes “how bilingual individuals interact with technology” with its Arabic-first methodology.

The app’s name, Jais, alludes to Ras Al Khaimah, the highest point in the United Arab Emirates.

The Jais Chat startup also disclosed that enterprise support, voice conversation capabilities, document processing, and subscription models for enterprises looking for customized functionality may be made available by the chatbot in the future.
