Malala's first image from her debut web series has finally been shown

Viewers appear to be in for a treat as the first pictures of Nobel Peace Prize recipient Malala Yousufzai’s cameo part in Nida Manzoor’s critically acclaimed British comedy We Are Lady Parts have been revealed.

We Are Lady Parts chronicles the highs and lows of a punk band made up of Muslim women. The most recent pictures feature Malala seated on a horse while wearing a blue robe and a cowboy hat to finish the ensemble.

Season 2 of the program, which had a great first season, premieres on May 30. Anjana Vasan (Wicked Little Letters, Black Mirror), Sarah Kameela Impey (Vera, Halcyon Heights), Juliette Motamed (Halo, Magic Mike’s Last Dance), Faith Omole (An Ideal Husband, Endeavour), and Lucie Shorthouse (Rebus, Henpocalypse!) are among the band members Malala appears with for her cameo.

After the high of their first UK tour, the band returns for series two with a reinvigorated artistic objective, only to find a rival band threatening to destroy everything they have fought so hard to achieve. The band members begin to wonder if making it big in the music industry is really what they want as the reality of chasing success crashes down on them.

The show’s creator, Manzoor, who based the program on her own experiences, stated in a previous interview that the upcoming season will explore each character’s inner life further. She clarified, “Each of them facing new, existential challenges with all the pranks, nonsense, and silliness of season one.”

The director said, “The music is bigger too – more wild original tunes (penned by me and my siblings) and, dare I say it, even better covers.” He was tasked with writing more original music for the play.

We Are Lady Parts‘ first season’s six episodes may be streamed on Peacock and Channel 4 in the UK. Working Title Television (WTTV), a Universal Studio Group Universal International Studios branch, is responsible for the show’s production.
