Karachi to Get Self-Service Kiosks for Hassle-Free CNIC Renewal

Karachi residents will soon experience a faster and hassle-free way to renew their expired CNICs or replace lost ones. NADRA has announced plans to introduce self-service kiosks in the city, eliminating the need for long queues and lengthy waiting times.

These high-tech kiosks will allow citizens to manage their CNIC applications independently. Users can complete the entire process, including entering their details, capturing fingerprints, taking photographs, and verifying biometric data. The kiosks will also generate a QR code for payment, which can be made using services like JazzCash or Easypaisa.

Currently, the self-service kiosks are undergoing trial runs and have already been installed at the NADRA Mega Centre in Islamabad. If the trials are successful, Karachi’s Mega Centres will be the next to receive these kiosks, followed by installations at key public locations such as airports, railway stations, and shopping malls.

According to NADRA representatives, these kiosks aim to make the process more efficient and accessible. In the future, a POS system will also be added, enabling citizens to pay fees using debit or credit cards directly at the kiosk.

This initiative reflects NADRA’s commitment to modernizing its services and making them more user-friendly. With these automated systems, Karachi residents can look forward to a smoother, faster process for renewing or reissuing their CNICs. The move is expected to save time and bring greater convenience to thousands of people across the city.
