Karachi Gets Light Rain Ahead of Monsoon Arrival on June 25
Deputy Director Met Department, Anjum Nazir, has predicted sporadic rainfall in the outskirts of the metropolis.
Light rain and drizzle in various parts of Karachi brought a pleasant change to the weather in city on Sunday.
Surjani Town, New Karachi, and Gulshan-e-Maymar received brief spells of rain and drizzle, while thunderclouds were hovering over Orangi Town and Baldia Town with light showers.
Some parts of Baluchistan’s Khuzdar and Lasbela districts could also receive rain in the current pre-monsoon wet spell, a weather official said. “This wet spell in various parts of the country could persist until tomorrow”.
“The monsoon rains of 2025 will start by June 25,” Anjum Nazir Zaigham said.
Partly cloudy weather is expected in various districts of Sindh today, including Mithi, Umar Kot, Badin, Thatta, Karachi, Mirpur Khas, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Khairpur, Dadu, Sukkur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, and Shikarpur and adjoining areas.
Strong winds or gusts and rainfall with thunderstorm is likely in some areas while heavy rainfall is also expected at some places.
The weather official said that the northern areas have experienced higher temperatures, causing rapid melting of snow in glaciers, improving the water situation in rivers.
