WB Grants $194M for Balochistan Education Water Projects
The World Bank has given $194 million to help improve education and water supply in Balochistan.
Out of this money, $100 million will be used for a project called the “Access to Quality Education Project.” The goal is to give better education to about 250,000 children in the province.
As part of this project:
5,000 teachers will get special training to teach better.
400 girls will receive scholarships so they can become teachers in the future.
The remaining $94 million will be used to improve water supply systems and make sure there is enough water for farming.
The World Bank said that a big part of this money will be spent on improving Quetta’s water system.
World Bank Gives $194 Million to Help Balochistan
Earlier, the World Bank also announced that it plans to invest $40 billion in Pakistan from 2026 to 2035 under its new 10-year plan called the Country Partnership Framework (CPF).
The Ministry of Economic Affairs is now preparing a full plan to carry out this program, which matches Pakistan’s development plan, Uraan Pakistan.
This is the first time the World Bank has made a 10-year plan (instead of the usual 5 years), showing it wants to help Pakistan in the long run.
