Actor and singer Himanshi Khurana posted a picture with her friend Shefali Jariwala on social media (X, formerly Twitter). She wrote, “Bigg Boss, that place is cursed, I think,” after Shefali died suddenly at the age of 42 from a heart attack on Friday night.
Before Shefali, six other contestants from the reality show Bigg Boss also passed away at a young age. Here’s a look at who they were:
1. Sidharth Shukla
Sidharth was Shefali and Himanshi’s co-contestant in Bigg Boss 13. He was the winner of that season. Sadly, he died of a heart attack in 2021, at the age of 40.
2. Pratyusha Banerjee
Pratyusha was a popular TV actress and contestant on Bigg Boss 7. She died by suicide in 2016. She was only 24 years old.
3. Swami Om
Swami Om, who called himself a spiritual leader, was known for his strange behavior in Bigg Boss 10. He died in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, months after getting infected with the virus.
4. Sonali Phogat
Sonali, a BJP leader and social media personality, took part in Bigg Boss 14. She also died of a heart attack in 2023, at the age of 42.
5. Somadas Chathannoor
Somadas was a singer who appeared in Bigg Boss Malayalam. He died in 2021 due to complications from COVID-19.
6. Jayashree Ramaiah
Jayashree was a Kannada actor and Bigg Boss contestant. In 2020, she died by suicide. Her body was found at a rehab center and an old-age center.
