Two Brave Men from Swat Honored for Saving Tourists from Flood
Two brave young men from Swat, Muhammad Hilal Khan and Asmat Ali, met with Governor Faisal Kundi at the Governor’s House. They were honored for risking their lives to save tourists who were trapped in sudden floodwaters. They used a simple raft to carry out the rescue.
To thank them for their bravery, the governor gave them special shields and praised their courage and kindness. He also announced that both men will be sent for Umrah. He said he will recommend their names to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a national award.
Governor Kundi also told the Red Crescent Society to improve emergency help in Swat. He asked them to provide boats at local offices to help during future floods.
Hilal Khan and Asmat Ali thanked the governor for recognizing and appreciating their rescue efforts.
Political Criticism over the Swat Incident
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Adviser on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, criticized Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He said she was using the Swat incident for political purposes instead of focusing on helping people.
Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said that it was wrong to do “opportunistic politics” during a natural disaster.
He also said that a committee has been made to investigate what happened in Swat.
