The main topic of the ECO Summit is “New ECO Vision for a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Future.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will lead Pakistan’s team at the event. He will share Pakistan’s views on important problems in the region and the world.
At the Summit, Shehbaz Sharif will:
Reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the ECO Vision 2025.
Ask for more trade and better transport links between ECO countries.

Pakistan’s Climate Concerns
Pakistan has often spoken out about the global climate crisis. Although the country produces less than 1% of the world’s carbon emissions, it suffers some of the worst effects of climate change.
Problems like rising temperatures, unusual rainfall, and fast-melting glaciers are causing more natural disasters. These issues are harming food supplies, public health, and the economy.
The 2022 floods showed how vulnerable Pakistan is to climate change. Over 33 million people were affected, more than 1,700 died, and over 8 million lost their homes.
The floods destroyed roads, buildings, and crops, causing around $14.8 billion in damage and $15.2 billion in economic losses.
