Palestine Action Members Charged Over £7M RAF Plane Vandalism

On 20 June, two Voyager planes were damaged with red paint, causing about £7 million in damage.

Four people between the ages of 22 and 35 have been charged and will appear in Westminster Magistrates’ Court today. Police from Counter Terrorism Policing South East said they are being charged with:

Planning to cause criminal damage

Planning to enter a restricted area in a way that could harm the safety or interests of the UK

The activist group Palestine Action has said they are responsible for what happened.

The people going to court are:

Amy Gardiner-Gibson, 29, no fixed address

Jony Cink, 24, no fixed address

Daniel Jeronymides-Norie, 35, from London

Lewie Chiaramello, 22, from London

A 41-year-old woman who was arrested for helping someone involved has been released on bail until 19 September. Another man was arrested but later let go without any charges.

Police also said that the Crown Prosecution Service believes the actions may be linked to terrorism.

This comes just after Parliament voted on Wednesday to ban Palestine Action under anti-terror laws. The vote passed with 385 MPs in favor and 26 against.
