Czech Climber Dies on Nanga Parbat Ascent
Czech Climber Dies While Climbing Nanga Parbat
A Czech woman named Klara Kolouchova died while climbing Nanga Parbat, the ninth-tallest mountain in the world. According to a local official, she fell from a high point between Camp One and Camp Two.
Nanga Parbat is also called the “Killer Mountain” because it is very dangerous and many climbers have died trying to reach its top.
Right now, a search team is trying to find her body. Helicopters are helping, but it’s very difficult because the mountain is extremely high and steep.
Kolouchova was a very experienced climber. She had already climbed five mountains that are over 8,000 meters high, including the three tallest in the world. Sadly, she could not complete her dream of climbing Nanga Parbat.
Another Tragedy in 2023
Last year, in 2023, a Spanish climber also died while trying to climb Nanga Parbat. Police said he had a heart attack at one of the base camps on the mountain.
