Shehbaz Aliyev Boost Trade Ties at ECO Summit
On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev during the ECO Summit held in Khankendi, Azerbaijan.
During their meeting, both leaders agreed to work more closely in trade and investment. They were happy with the progress made so far and want to continue building their economic partnership, especially by encouraging Azerbaijan to invest more in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is in Azerbaijan to attend the 17th ECO Summit, which is taking place from July 3 to 4, 2025.

On the side of the summit, the Prime Minister also congratulated President Aliyev for hosting the event successfully.
He thanked the President and the people of Azerbaijan for their warm welcome during his earlier visit to Lachin from May 27 to 29, 2025.
PM Shehbaz also appreciated Azerbaijan’s strong support during Pakistan’s recent tensions with India. He said that Pakistan had also stood by Azerbaijan during its tough times.
The Prime Minister said that the recent meetings between both countries’ leaders had made their relationship even stronger. He once again invited President Aliyev to visit Pakistan soon.
