QAR to PKR Rises to 77.90 Steady Gain for Pakistani Expats
Qatari Riyal Slowly Rises Against Pakistani Rupee
The Qatari Riyal (QAR) has slowly become stronger compared to the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) in recent weeks. At the end of June 2025, 1 QAR was equal to 77.86 PKR. It had been 77.70 PKR on June 27, 77.87 PKR on June 25, and 77.82 PKR on June 23. Earlier in the month, it was 77.72 PKR on June 14 and 77.39 PKR at the start of June. This shows a steady increase.
Today’s rate: 1 QAR = 77.90 PKR
Why the Rate Changes
The exchange rate depends on how much people want to buy or sell the currency. This is affected by trade, remittances, and government policies.
The Qatari Riyal is tied to the US dollar at a fixed rate of 3.64 QAR per USD. Qatar’s economy is strong because it exports a lot.
The Pakistani Rupee changes more often because it depends on inflation, politics, and Pakistan’s foreign reserves.
What This Means for Pakistanis in Qatar
More than 125,000 Pakistanis live and work in Qatar. The stable QAR helps them send money home. For example, 1,000 QAR was worth 77,860 PKR on June 30. Today, it is 77,900 PKR. This is 510 PKR more than at the beginning of June (when it was 77,390 PKR). This extra money helps families in Pakistan pay for things like school and healthcare.
However, if someone earns in PKR or keeps their savings in PKR, it may now cost them more to buy things in Qatar.
About the Currencies
