Lahore – Popular Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt is now in serious legal trouble after a new case was filed against him. The case is connected to a video he made during Muharram, a sacred month for Muslims.
Rajab Butt uploaded a video in which he strongly criticized Yazid (a historical Islamic figure disliked by many Muslims, especially Shia Muslims). In the video, he cursed Yazid and his ancestors. This upset some people, especially followers of the religious group Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), who consider such statements blasphemous.
Because of this video, a blasphemy case has been filed against him under the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and the Blasphemy Law (Section 295).
The case accuses Rajab Butt of hurting religious sentiments.
He is also accused of spreading hate online through his YouTube channel.
The complaint was filed by members of the public and religious groups.
The National Cyber Crime Agency (NCCA) has officially summoned Rajab Butt for investigation.

In a video posted on YouTube, Advocate Mian Bilal said:
Rajab Butt will be investigated for hurting people’s religious beliefs. We received complaints from across the country. This is not personal — it’s based on public reaction.”
Bilal also claimed that more cases could be filed if Rajab Butt does not return or respond to the authorities.
Some people are angry and want him punished.
Others support Rajab Butt, saying he only expressed his religious beliefs and freedom of speech.
Rajab Butt may be arrested if he returns to Pakistan.
He might also respond through his lawyers or issue a public apology.
If found guilty, he could face serious punishment, including jail time.
