Nick Jonas Reveals How Joe Helped Spot His Diabetes

Nick Jonas Talks About His Diabetes Diagnosis and How Joe Helped

Nick Jonas, the youngest member of the Jonas Brothers band, recently talked about how he found out he had type 1 diabetes. He shared his story during a podcast with his brothers Kevin and Joe, hosted by actor Penn Badgley on the Podcrushed show.

Nick, now 32 years old, said he started feeling sick when he was younger. “I was losing a lot of weight, drinking lots of water, and going to the bathroom all the time,” he explained. “I didn’t know these were signs of type 1 diabetes.”

He said that back then, there wasn’t enough information about the disease. Nick also said his older brother Joe played a big part in getting him help.

Joe, who was 16 at the time, noticed something strange when they were at a pool. He saw that Nick looked very skinny and could see every bone in his body. Joe called their parents and said, “Something’s wrong, you have to come.”

Nick was taken to the doctor, and they found out his blood sugar level was very high. A normal level is between 70 and 120, but Nick’s was over 900. He praised the doctors for quickly finding out what was wrong.

Soon after starting treatment, Nick said he was feeling better and even returned to performing on stage within days.
