67,000 Pakistani Pilgrims Miss Hajj 2025 Due to Payment Delays
Islamabad – Around 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims were unable to perform Hajj this year due to delays in finalizing agreements and payments with Saudi authorities, Hajj organisers have revealed.
In a statement to the public, the organisers assured that all affected pilgrims will receive full refunds without any deductions. Pilgrims need to submit a written application, after which they will receive a confirmation letter within three days. Refunds are expected to be processed within seven to ten days.
Saudi Arabia had allocated a total quota of 179,210 pilgrims for Pakistan in 2025, with the spots split evenly between the government and private tour operators, at 89,605 each. However, under the private scheme, only 14,000 applications were approved.
Hajj organisers stated that they had made bookings and transferred SAR 7 million for the 67,000 pilgrims. Still, the delay in finalising agreements and payments led to the Saudi authorities rejecting these applications. As a result, thousands of prospective pilgrims missed the opportunity to undertake the sacred journey.
