Students Return Gold Found in Flood Hit Home
Students Return Flood-Hit Family’s Gold, Donate Reward to Charity
A viral video has captured a remarkable act of honesty by a group of madrasa students who found gold jewellery while cleaning a flood-hit house.
The students, covered in mud as they cleared debris left behind by the devastating floods, came across the valuables but chose to hand them over to their madrasa chief. After proper verification, the jewellery was safely returned to its rightful owner.
In a further show of integrity, the students also donated a cash reward of Rs 10,000—given to them in appreciation—to charity.
The incident has won widespread praise from the public online. Meanwhile, the current rate of 24-karat gold in Pakistan stands at Rs355,700 per tola.
