Ex Militant Reveals Fitna al Khawarijs Brutality

ISLAMABAD: A former militant from the Gul Bahadur group, Abdul Samad, has revealed shocking details about the extremist network “Fitna al-Khawarij,” exposing its brutality and misuse of religion, according to reports.

Abdul Samad, who recently surrendered during a Pakistan Army operation, confessed that he spent over four years in Afghanistan receiving training in Kalashnikov rifles and making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). He said he was initially with commanders Sadiq and Asad and later joined Asad’s faction in Zangoti, North Waziristan. According to him, militants even used mosques as centers to produce IEDs, mines, and drone bombs.

He claimed that militants desecrated the Quran, abused children, and played obscene videos inside mosques while manufacturing explosives. Samad said Commander Asad labeled the Pakistan Army as “apostates” and instructed fighters to target security forces.

“When I witnessed their actions, I realized they were worse than disbelievers,” he said, adding that the Taliban disrespected mosques, mistreated children, and dishonored the Quran. “I testify that the Army is truthful, and the Taliban are liars,” he said, contrasting his five-day experience with the Pakistan Army.

Abdul Samad also revealed that before fleeing army raids, militants would confiscate recruits’ mobile phones and ID cards, wiping devices to destroy evidence. He identified mosques in Din Akbar, Mirza Khan, and Laod Khel as hubs where 10–15 militants operated under Asad’s command.

Sending a message to the public, Samad urged parents to protect their children from extremist groups and support the Pakistan Army. Security officials said his confession exposes the “ugly face” of militants who exploit religion to spread chaos.
