MDCAT 2025 Rescheduled to October 26, PMDC Confirms

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced that the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, originally scheduled for October 5, has been postponed to October 26, 2025 (Sunday).

The decision, according to PMDC, was made in the best interest of students to ensure equal educational opportunities nationwide. The rescheduling came on the instructions of Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, following consultations with university representatives from all four provinces, as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Terming the move as being in the “larger interest of students,” Mustafa Kamal reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing fair and equal educational opportunities to all aspiring medical and dental students.

Earlier, PMDC released the new curriculum for MDCAT 2025. According to PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, the updated test will cover five subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning.

The exam will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be completed in three hours. There will be no negative marking, and questions will be divided by difficulty: 15% easy, 70% moderate, and 15% difficult.

Dr. Rizwan Taj further explained that a minimum of 55% marks will be required for admission to medical colleges, while dental colleges will require at least 50%. He also noted that PMDC has begun developing a question bank for the exam, with the new curriculum prepared in consultation with academic experts, educational boards, and universities.
