Punjab Floods Water Levels Drop Relief Ongoing

Flood Water Levels Drop in Punjab, Rehabilitation Underway: PDMA

LAHORE – The Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Irfan Ali Kathia, has confirmed that water levels are gradually dropping in flood-affected areas of Punjab.

“The Sutlej River is currently flowing at 95,000 cusecs at Ganda Singh Wala, while at Sulemanki Headworks, the flow is 81,000 cusecs,” the PDMA reported.

Meanwhile, the Chenab River is recording 55,000 cusecs at Marala Headworks, 24,000 at Khanki Headworks, 29,000 at Qadirabad, and 35,000 at Head Trimmu. The combined flow at Punjnad stands at 1,18,000 cusecs.

The Ravi River is also seeing lower levels, with flows dropping to 6,000 cusecs at Jassar, 9,000 at Shahdara, 28,000 at Balloki Headworks, and 30,000 at Head Sidhnai.

DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia added that rehabilitation work is ongoing in the flood-affected districts, aiming to restore normalcy as quickly as possible.

In Sindh, the Indus River remains in low flood at Sukkur and Guddu barrages, while downstream at Kotri Barrage, it is in medium flood, authorities said.
