James Gunn Promises a Fresh Take on ‘Man of Tomorrow’
Director James Gunn has promised that his upcoming superhero film Man of Tomorrow will offer a completely new experience for audiences. “I like my movies to be different. Guardians 1 is not the same as Guardians 3,” Gunn told Collider.
He added, “They’re different. And Man of Tomorrow will not be the same as Superman. And it is Lex’s story too, so it’s the two of them. That colors it in a totally different way.”
Despite growing anticipation, details about the film remain tightly under wraps, keeping fans eager for more updates.
In a separate interview, the co-head of DC Studios addressed fan speculation over Brainiac’s potential appearance after a script cover showing a brain sparked online theories. “Listen, of course, I wasn’t unaware that when I posted the cover of the script, there was going to be discussion around that particular topic. But I think we’ll hold off on what exactly is happening,” the executive told Entertainment Weekly.
Man of Tomorrow is scheduled for release in theaters on July 9, 2027.
Earlier this year, Gunn shared an exciting update on the sequel to his hit Superman, which launched his DC Universe. The film, starring David Corenswet as Superman, opened in theaters on July 11 and earned $56.5 million, marking the second-biggest opening of the year. It is currently nearing $600 million worldwide.
