Google Chrome may soon stop working on older computers
Google Chrome is the most used browser in the world, so it requires frequent updates.
Updates to all internet services require more technical capacity from computers or mobile devices.
That is why when new functions come in applications, the phone will have to have more memory.
However, Google Chrome recently announced that its new update will stop working on certain very old computer models.
Models on which Google Chrome will stop working?
The Google browser will stop working on computers with x86 family processors that do not support the third generation of SSE instructions.
This will affect only a small number of computers that have that old processor.
Users having Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Atom, and Celeron M will continue to enjoy the new features of Chrome … for now.
“Our analysis indicates that there are a very small number of Windows devices using Chrome with x86 processors that do not support SSE3”, their statement reports.
In the mobile version, the web browser will continue to work on devices with Android, Chrome OS, and macOS.
Users who have computers with the aforementioned processors will receive a notification. The notification will inform them that Chrome will soon stop serving them due to having old equipment with no capacity.
