Adele Quits Super Bowl 2026
Adele Declines Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show Amid Safety Concerns
Grammy-winning singer Adele has reportedly turned down the opportunity to headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, set to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, next February. The news comes after months of speculation that the British superstar, along with American pop icons Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, were being considered for the coveted spot.
An insider revealed to a foreign publication, “Adele has ruled out performing at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.” A music industry executive added, “She is petrified after what happened to [Charlie] Kirk. There is no way she will stand in front of 100 million people at the Super Bowl now.”
Sources close to Adele say the singer has become increasingly cautious about public appearances. “Adele thinks she would have a bullseye on her back. She barely leaves home anymore except for work commitments. She has staff and close family around her, but otherwise, she avoids the outside world. She is genuinely frightened of becoming a target like Kirk,” one insider shared.
For context, right-wing activist Charlie Kirk was tragically shot dead on September 10 during an event at a Utah university campus.
A close source added, “Her behaviour privately mirrors what fans see online – flashes of humour and warmth, mixed with sudden fear. She talks about her son constantly and says she has to stay alive for him. The paranoia about appearing in public is real.”
