More than 30 universities from Pakistan have been featured in the Young University Rankings 2024 by Times Higher Education. However, none of these universities secured a spot in the top 100 list. Notably, the National University of Sciences and Technology ranked 142nd, while COMSATS University Islamabad was positioned at 154th place.
The Young University Rankings by Times Higher Education evaluates the best universities worldwide that are 50 years old or younger. These rankings consider factors such as teaching quality, research output, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. However, they assign less weight to the university’s reputation.
In the 2024 rankings, 673 universities were listed, marking an increase from 605 universities in the previous year. Additionally, 499 institutions were categorized as “reporters,” indicating that they provided data but did not meet the eligibility criteria for ranking.
Nanyang Technological University in Singapore secured the top position in the rankings for the second consecutive year. Hong Kong also maintained a strong presence in the top 10, although individual university performances varied. Turkey had the highest number of ranked institutions, followed by India and Iran.
