a Russian CEO bids $9,000 to take home autographed Trump sneakers

A day after the former US president announced its launch on Saturday, a Russian businessman with a Philadelphia address placed a winning bid for an autographed pair of Donald Trump’s new golden sneakers, according to the New York Post.

After winning a $9,000 bid at Philadelphia’s Sneaker Con on Sunday, Roman Sharf, the owner and CEO of luxury watch reseller Luxury Bazaar, left with an autographed pair of Trump’s “Never Surrender” high tops.

At a surprise Saturday appearance at the event, Trump revealed the debut of his new shoe line, just one day after a New York judge ordered him to pay $355 million for falsely inflating his net worth to deceive banks and insurers.

After outbidding other purchasers, Sharf displayed the golden sneakers in a social media video, grinning and interacting with the audience.

Only 1,000 pairs of the $399 shoes, which include an American flag detail on the back, will be sold. After being released, the sneakers allegedly sold out in less than two hours.

After winning, Sharf reportedly declared, “We are going to have a winning celebration come this November, and I’ll be wearing these one-of-a-kind Donald Trump-signed sneakers,” according to Times Now World.

Later, he revealed on social media that he intended to someday give the shoes to his kids.

He wrote on X, “But for now will display in the office.”

Sharf trades luxury timepieces without brand authorization, making him “one of the biggest grey market watch dealers in the world.”

According to WatchPro, he has thirty employees and brings about $130 million a year in sales.

When Trump unveiled the shoe collection on Saturday, the audience applauded and jeered him loudly.

Telling the crowd, “I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” “I’ve been talking about this for the past 12 or 13 years, and some amazing folks that I deal with on stuff came up with this. It should be a huge success, in my opinion.”
