Actor and host Momin Saqib’s recent Instagram Stories have angered Pakistani model and actor Mathira, who calls them “stupid” and expresses concerns about how they can affect people who are struggling with mental health issues.
Mathira shared her dissatisfaction on Instagram, writing, “I’m sorry, but this is really foolish. really many people these days are going through bad times, are suicidal, and are having mental health issues. Sometimes watching such videos breaks a person more than it helps. Everyone is aware that we will all experience death. Instead of focusing just on mortality, we should teach individuals how to navigate this difficult existence.”
Mathira’s remarks underscore the need for tact in content development, especially at a time when many people are going through difficult times, and show concern for the wellbeing of those who might be dealing with a variety of issues.
On the other hand, Momin discussed the certainty of death in his thoughtful Instagram Stories post while meandering around a cemetery. He expressed his sharp perspective by saying, “Tomorrow is here. The future is here. In life, this is the sole certainty and reality. This is how we are all going to live.
He went on, “This is the end, regardless of what you do, how much money you gain, or how famous you become. When death arrives, all of your pride, failures, humiliations, and moments of joy will come to an end.”
Momin’s intention was to offer a thoughtful analysis of the universality of mortality, but Mathira’s comment highlights how crucial it is to take the audience’s emotional health into account, particularly given the socio-emotional climate of today. The incident starts a larger discussion on how influencers and content producers should combine providing thought-provoking content with being considerate of the many backgrounds of their audience.
