After a 15-year break, PML-N chief Nawaz meets PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at his home

Nawaz meets Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at his home

A seat adjustment agreement between the two parties resulted from the political reunion of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif met Chaudhry Shujaat on Wednesday for the first time in fifteen years.

According to sources, the PML-N and PML-Q leaders held a 40-minute discussion during which they explored the prospect of forming an electoral coalition. This was the main political development that transpired.

They said that the formation of distinct committees to settle alliance-related issues was another decision made at the meeting.

Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sanaullah, Ayaz Sadiq, and Azam Nazeer Tarar went with Nawaz to Shujaat’s Lahore home.

The conference was also attended by leaders of the PML-Q, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Shafay Hussain.

According to the sources, seat adjustments for two National Assembly and three Punjab Assembly constituencies have been agreed upon by the two parties.

The PML-Q leader Tariq Bashir Cheema’s and Salik’s constituencies will see seat adjustments, according to their statement.

According to the reports, Shafay’s provincial assembly constituency is included in the electoral pact.

Nawaz also asked about the well-being of veteran politician Shujaat, the nation’s previous prime minister, during the meeting.

But after the meeting, no formal statement was released.

The gathering takes place at a time when political activity is increasing due to parties forming electoral coalitions and conducting campaigns to improve their standing in the polls.

In an attempt to inspire his followers ahead of the polls on February 8, Nawaz, the three-time prime minister, returned to the nation in October of this year after spending nearly four years in exile in London.

The leader of the PML-N, who returned to the nation, has obtained significant relief from courts about corruption allegations that his party felt were made to victimize him politically.

Previously, the leader of the PML-N was successful in courting Baloch “electables” to become members of his party and formed an electoral partnership with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P)
