Actor Ali Fazal talked about how filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani noticed him at a theatre performance and demanded that he create a movie during a recent appearance on comedian Cyrus Broacha’s show. “Woh, tum shirt wahi le aana beta, hume wohi shirt chaiye (We want the same shirt in which you auditioned, so bring that one along)” was the response he received after receiving a call and showing up for the audition while wearing a shirt that he claimed to have worn four days a week.
The actor went on to say that as part of his preparation for the role, he learned every chord to the song “Give Me Some Sunshine” on the guitar.
“After that, I was mistreated by all of my musician pals for years since I was playing it so well on stage. “It’s like, ‘Give me some sunshine,’ but then Raju sir enters and tells me to stop staring at the guitar,” Fazal disclosed. “Play common chords,” Aamir Khan then commands.
The “Fukrey” actor acknowledged that he was irritated with his musician buddies because he just strummed the guitar without paying attention to the correct chords.
The same shirt, which Fazal purchased for forty rupees, was also ruined during the suicide scene, but the production staff skillfully repaired it and gave it back to him. In addition, the director gave him a jacket.
For those who don’t know, Ali Fazal portrayed senior student Joy Lobo in Rajkumar Hirani’s coming-of-age comedy-drama “3 Idiots,” which starred Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi in addition to Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead. Joy Lobo committed suicide as a result of the stress of college and schoolwork.
