Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir spoke to officers graduating from the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University in Islamabad on Monday. These officers came from all branches of the armed forces.
He gave a strong warning that if anyone tries to attack Pakistan’s cities, military bases, ports, or important economic areas, Pakistan will respond immediately with a very strong and painful counterattack. He said that any country starting such a conflict would be responsible for the situation getting worse, especially since Pakistan is a nuclear power.
He criticized India’s failure to achieve its goals during Operation Sindoor and said their efforts to cover up that failure with excuses showed poor planning and a lack of preparation.
He also rejected claims that other countries helped Pakistan succeed in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. He said these claims are false and show that some people are not willing to admit how capable and strong Pakistan’s military and institutions have become over the years.
He said that blaming other countries for a conflict that was only between India and Pakistan is just a political move by India. He accused India of trying to act like the leader of the region while pushing its extremist Hindutva ideology, which many in the region are getting tired of.
In contrast, he said Pakistan builds strong and respectful relationships with other countries through honest diplomacy. Pakistan works for peace and stability in the region.
Field Marshal Munir also talked about how warfare is changing and said that mental strength, clear planning, and strong institutions are now more important than ever. He praised the National Defence University for helping build strong teamwork between civilians and the military and for preparing future leaders to handle all kinds of threats.
He said that wars are not won by media talk, buying expensive foreign weapons, or political slogans—but through faith, skill, clear thinking, strong institutions, and national unity.
He expressed full confidence in the Pakistani military’s strength, professionalism, and readiness. He told the graduating officers to stay committed to honesty, service, and loyalty to the nation.
When he arrived, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was warmly welcomed by the university’s president.
