Atletico Madrid to Host 2027 Champions League Final at Home Stadium
Atlético Madrid’s home ground, the Riyad Air Metropolitano, has been chosen to host the 2027 UEFA Champions League final, marking the second time the stadium will stage Europe’s most prestigious club match. The first was in 2019, when Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur.
The Spanish capital was selected over Baku, Azerbaijan, following a meeting of UEFA’s executive committee in Tirana. Next season’s Champions League final is set to take place in Budapest on May 30, 2026.
UEFA also confirmed that the 2027 Women’s Champions League final will be held in Warsaw, while Salzburg, Austria, will host the UEFA Super Cup next year.
In an official statement, Atlético Madrid said: “The Riyad Air Metropolitano has been selected as the host for the 2027 Champions League final. Next season, our stadium will stage its second final of Europe’s premier club competition in less than a decade, following the previous one in 2019. This further cements its status as one of the world’s most significant sporting venues.”
The club celebrated UEFA’s announcement on social media, sharing the news with fans worldwide.
