Babar Azam Surpasses Virat Kohli in T20I Records with Historic Milestone

Pakistan’s T20I captain, Babar Azam, has achieved a historic milestone by outshining India’s Virat Kohli in T20 International cricket records.

During the recent T20I series against Ireland, Babar showcased exceptional skills, leading to the highest number of fifty-plus scores in T20Is. He achieved this feat by accumulating a total of 39 fifty-plus scores in 110 innings, surpassing Kohli’s previous record of 38 fifty-plus scores in 109 innings.

Babar’s consistent performance and knack for converting opportunities into significant scores have garnered praise. He has three T20I centuries under his belt, compared to Kohli’s.

Furthermore, Babar is on the brink of becoming the first Pakistani cricketer to amass over 4000 runs in T20I cricket. Currently, he stands at 3955 runs, trailing behind Kohli and Rohit Sharma. With just 82 more runs needed to surpass Kohli’s total runs in T20Is, Babar is on track to etch his name in the record books.

This remarkable achievement coincides with Pakistan’s triumph in the T20I series against Ireland. The team’s next challenge awaits in the form of a four-match T20I series against England, commencing on May 22nd.
