President Joe Biden has said that Donald Trump should not be given any access to intelligence briefings because of his “erratic behaviour”.
According to the US tradition, former presidents could be allowed on the briefing of the nation’s security issues. But when he was asked that would the former president would receive the same courtesy in response he said I think not. Trump’s erratic behaviour is his reason for refusing access.
I don’t think there’s any need for him to have intelligence access this is what Biden has said in his first interview after becoming president. He also declined to speculate on what his worst fears would be if Trump were allowed to see classified reports. But he suggested the former president could not be trusted to keep confidential information to himself.
This is the first time the former president has excluded from the tradition. Trump feuded with the intelligence community throughout his four years presidency. He has also gone through six national intelligence directors.
During his interviews, joe was asked about the impeachment trial; trump is facing in the US Senate for his role in the riot at the capital on 6 January. In response, Biden said he ran like hell to defeat because I thought he was unfit to be president.
