Ranbir Kapoor feels that Virat Kohli should play himself

Actor Ranbir Kapoor will not be seen on set in a cricketer’s outfit anytime soon. His remarkable career includes everything from lighthearted rom-coms to playing legendary actor Sanjay Dutt in the 2018 biopic Sanju, which received positive reviews. Ranbir spoke with host Jatin Sapru about his passion for cricket and the India vs. New Zealand semi-final during his appearance on the sports program King Surpasses God.

When Jatin expressed interest in playing the well-known Indian batsman Virat Kohli, the actor offered his opinion on a potential biopic about the cricketer. “Virat Kohli should play his role in a biopic because he looks better than many actors,” Ranbir said in response. He went on to praise Virat’s suitability and fitness for carrying out his own role.

On social media, a photo of Ranbir at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium has also gained popularity. The actor conversed with former cricketer and presenter Harbhajan Singh and Ravi Shastri while looking effortlessly stylish in a casual blue suit and black sunglasses.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film’s director, has Ranbir excitedly awaiting the premiere of his next film, Animal. The film is slated to open in theaters on December 1, 2023, and stars Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna. He will also apparently feature in the second part of Brahmastra and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.

The famous actor had before engaged in frank discussions on Ramayana and Animal on social media, calling the latter “the darkest film” he had ever worked on and acknowledging the grim attitude of his character. The Sanju actor also talked about the incredible physical change he went through to make it happen.

He revealed, “I had shaved my hair for Animal! That was what I had done for the last scene. I’m growing my hair out now. I’m eating a lot and not on a diet because I’m not working on any movies. My whole way of life has altered. Since I stopped smoking, I’ve been consuming a lot of chocolate.”
