7-year-old boy saved his sister from getting kidnapped

Crimes against women have been escalating on a massive scale. Recently another attempt at kidnapping took place in Lahore. A 7-year-old boy saved his younger sister from being kidnapped in Lahore’s Model Town on Tuesday.

The children, Saddam and Meher-un-Nissa, had gone to get drinking water for their house to the nearby place. That’s when a man came and tried to kidnap the girl.

The brave young boy started shouting and screaming, making enough noise to grab the attention of a nearby police officer. He kept shouting until his voice reached the ears of the nearest policeman. The policeman managed to catch the man and put him in the lockup.

Their father registered an attempted kidnapping case against him. Let us not forget Fatima Anwar Masih case who was allegedly abducted by a boy named Amjad, a chicken seller from Jhang on May 6 in Gulraiz Colony of Rawalpindi. When her parents went to the police to register an FIR, the girl’s parents alleged that the “Police are threatening us and we are told to get out of the police station. No complaint will be taken in this regard”. We hope, in this case, police do take strict action against the culprit. It’s the responsibility of the police to give security to the citizens. And when the police fail, you have to step forward to protect your own fellow citizens.

We totally need such brave boys in our society. Every parent needs to raise such courageous children in order to protect their family from this cruel world. In dark times like these, no one is safe especially if you are a girl.
