The police have registered a murder case after the deceased, Azmat Ara’s son, Waseem Hussain filed a complaint. He reported that his parents were British nationals, and in 2018, his mother had purchased a house in a private society.
In 2019, Hussain married Rahim Khan’s daughter, a Peshawar resident and the deceased’s relative. A year later, in 2021, his father-in-law, Rahim Khan, his brother, Ibrahim Khan, and his son, Kamal Ahmed, took over the deceased’s property, leading to discord within the family.
By November 2021, Hussain had divorced my wife, and the deceased filed a lawsuit against Rahim Khan and others to reclaim possession of her house. The court ruled in her favour and the bailiff removed the illegal occupants and returned the house to her.
On Saturday, when the deceased was out in her car, a motorcycle with three individuals—Rahim Khan, his brother Ibrahim Khan, and his son Kamal Ahmed—pulled up close to her at Defence Chowk. Kamal Ahmed, who was sitting at the back of the motorcycle, pulled out a gun and fired at her, shooting her dead on the spot.
The police said that based on Hussain’s complaint, a murder case has been registered against the perpetrators, and raids are being conducted to find them. The body has been handed over to the family after a post-mortem. The police have taken possession of the deceased’s car and transferred it to the police station. CCTV footage from various cameras is being reviewed to apprehend the suspects.
