Kakar relates resolving the Kashmir dispute with trading relations with India

Anwaarul Haq Kakar promises to punish aggressive trolls

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the acting prime minister, stated on Wednesday that in order to have normal relations with the Indian government, it was difficult to have normal relations with the dispute in Kashmir, and that discussion of the conflict was thus necessary before forging trade linkages with India.

The Kakar discussed the potential for connectivity with neighboring countries, including India, during the annual Margalla Dialogue 2023 conference hosted by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute on “Evolving World Environment: Charting the Course for Our Future.” He also stated that Pakistan has never shied away from establishing trade links with its eastern neighbor, but that it cannot beg for them because trade should be for mutual benefits.

The temporary prime minister, who had previously served on the board of the IPRI, informed the audience that the Kashmir problem required care in line with the goals of its people since the Kashmiris could not be granted their right to self-determination in spite of assurances and UN guarantees. He went on to say that putting off the problem won’t work because colonization has always been resilient.

Kakar stated that Pakistan never encouraged the disputes, in contrast to India. Citing the pervasive Hindutva mentality within Indian society, he declared that these measures were surefire ways to end up in tragedy. Non-state actors present a threat to Pakistan, but the nation is ready to meet it head-on without the concrete help of outsiders, according to Kakar.

Kakar denounced the world for its “bizarre and surreal” justification of the slaughter of children in Gaza and for its double standards about the war ethos, calling Israeli savagery in Palestine comparable to that of the Middle Ages. He voiced his surprise at the reasoning, referring to his conversations with certain diplomats who justified Israeli actions by pointing to the deaths of Israeli children. He did, however, restate that it is unacceptable to kill any kid, regardless of their ethnicity or religion. How many Palestinian children must be slain in order to quell Israeli rage? 500, 1000, 4,700, five, ten, or more? Can they provide us with a figure so that we can appease those parents to wait? Approximately 10,000 children have to be slain in order to appease the Israelis, he said. He declared that it was “utterly unacceptable” for anybody posing as Prophet Moses’ (AS) disciples to kill infants in Pharaoh’s footsteps.

With regard to climate change, Caretaker Prime Minister Kakar stated that, in light of the recent devastating floods, it was turning into an existential threat rather than a military obstacle. It is impossible for one power or set of powers to overcome this obstacle.

Six forums were included in the conference, IPRI President Ambassador Raza Muhammad had earlier informed the attendees. As for the railway project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Kakar said it will prove to be a beneficial transit route for neighboring nations while presiding over a meeting on the Main Line-1 (ML-1) project at the PM House. The ML-1 project was informed to the gathering that it was nearing completion and that ground-breaking will take place early the next year.
