The legal team for Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a motion requesting that a federal judge dismiss a lawsuit that claims the rapper and two co-defendants sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl in a New York recording studio in 2003. The team claims the accusations are a “false and hideous claim” that were filed after the statute of limitations.
Claiming to have been drugged and gang-raped when she was seventeen, the woman, who claimed to have resided in a Detroit suburb in 2003 but is currently residing in Canada, sued Sean “Diddy” Combs and others anonymously in December 2023.
She claims that she was flown to New York and taken to a recording studio by Harve Pierre, who was Combs’ record label boss at the time. Photographs of her with Combs that evening are included in the lawsuit.
Combs’ attorneys want the case dismissed right away in order to protect Combs’s reputation and prevent more legal fees. This is a feeble attempt, according to the woman’s attorney, to dodge accountability.
Sean Combs is accused of sexual assault in a number of lawsuits, some of which are based on long-ago instances.
These are a few of the more numerous cases brought under a New York statute that allowed victims to pursue lawsuits based on previous accusations.
Even though that law’s deadline has passed, one case is based on an other New York City statute that permits litigation to be filed after the deadline.
Combs contends that an earlier deadline for another state legislation applies, meaning this case is too late.
He had an intermittent relationship with Cassie from 2007 to 2018, and during their ten years together, Cassie accused him of abusing and mistreating her. This accusation was made in November 2023.
Following the previous case’s settlement, Joi Dickerson-Neal filed a follow-up complaint accusing Combs of sexual assault once more. She said that in 1991, while attending Syracuse University as a college student, Combs had drugged and sexually attacked her.
Another lady, described as a different Jane Doe, accused Combs of sexual assault on the same day. She said that more than 30 years ago, in New York City, Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall sexually attacked her and a friend.
Former producer and videographer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit in February, claiming that Combs drugged, threatened, and harassed him sexually when they worked together.
