The “Aap ki Kaneez” actress was severely injured on Wednesday while heading to her salon in Lahore’s DHA Phase IV after two masked attackers opened fire on her car.
“My spouse carried out the attack because he has been threatening me for the past two months,” she stated on an Instagram video that she released after recording herself in a Lahore hospital.
In addition, she shared a video of an earlier discussion with her spouse on social media.
“I didn’t take these threats seriously that my children’s father couldn’t do something bad with his children’s mother.”
“Even though I have all the evidence with me, I’m not happy with the police investigation […] and I continue to receive threats against my life.” I am a mother of two small children. I require assistance. I’m not doing well; [from this attack], I took six gunshots.
“They are attempting to silence my voice, so media representatives are not permitted to contact me here at the hospital.
The ex-actor pleaded with the Punjab Inspector General to look into her case and make sure it was handled openly.
The former actor had earlier disclosed in a statement that she was receiving death threats and that a threat letter had been left at her beauty parlor after she regained consciousness in the hospital.
Zainab went on to say that although she didn’t know the attackers, it was clear that the attack was premeditated because the armed guys appeared ready to target her car as it was being driven to her salon.
It was discovered that after receiving a complaint from Zainab’s uncle, police filed a case against two unnamed individuals. Officers said that they had taken a motorcycle and a handgun from the scene of the incident.
They also said that the suspects would soon be taken into custody since they were being tracked down by Safe City cameras.
Zainab collaborated with Khuda and Mubabbat on projects such as Aap ki Kaneez, Sasural Meri Behen Ka, Mannchali, and Sada Sukhi Raho.
In December 2020, she declared that she was taking a vacation from the entertainment industry to devote her time to learning more about Islam and living her life in accordance with Islamic principles.
