Police officials said that the CCTV footage helped the department to identify the man who had received a child from the father in exchange for money.
The child’s father Sohail Palijo had told police that he had handed over the kid to a man Ghulam Haider in exchange for cash. The police detained the father and Ghulam Haider, who informed police that he had handed over the kid onward to another person in Hyderabad.
Earlier, the newborn’s mother told the police that the hospital management had demanded payment of the bill, her husband borrowed money and handed over the kid to the person.
Police recovered the child and handed him over to the mother.
Hospital management has said that the parents had paid Rs. 10,000 to the medical facility for the bill, adding that the money has been returned to the parents.
