Even in 2024, former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza condemned sexism and expressed her dissatisfaction with how women are still viewed, despite having reached the pinnacle of their professions.
The 37-year-old Sania tweeted an advertisement for an Indian business that offers in-home beauty and care services. The advertisement showed a woman who had just used her hard-earned money to purchase a car, but she was criticized because of her job as a masseuse.
Although she won six major titles in her career as a tennis player, the former player said that the advertisement “really hit home” because she encountered comparable circumstances.
She posted on Instagram Story, “Even after winning six grand slams in my career, I got more questions about my personal life than my game.”
“It’s 2024, when will learn to meet women’s achievements without questions?” Izhaan Mirza Malik’s mother, who is five years old, raised a query.
It is important to note that, as of last month, Sania filed for divorce from Pakistani cricket player Shoaib Malik after they split up in late 2022.
The 37-year-old tennis star had been disregarding the former all-rounder’s relationship with other ladies, according to sources, and she was not happy about it.
But Sania did this because she could no longer stand her husband.
